Swimming Lessons

We added swimming lessons to our summer activities this year. Chad was off one day during the 2 week lessons so he's in some of the pics too. Here ya go!

After lessons were over the kids got about 5 minutes to play on the slides and with each other before the next group of kids showed up.

Time to go home!

the Angel Moroni

Well, I'm skipping a few things I need to blog about in order to share the interesting time we had trying to see the angel Moroni being put on the Brigham City Temple. It was a dark and stormy day. At noon people from all over town gathered to see the sight. Every street for blocks was lined with cars, every yard with a view around the trees was full, and we managed to find one of the last empty spots in an abandonded parking lot next to a run down apartment building 2 blocks away from the action. From behind.

Our View:

We got really excited...

Even KSL TV was there to see via helicopter.

After waiting for over an hour the word went out that the angel had been unhooked from his crane and moved away. The wind was blowing too hard and it was too wet. We went home dissapointed.

Later that afternoon (around 4p.m.) Mom and I ran downtown to the quilt shop to match some fabric she had for a quilt. This is what we saw:

We literally saw the last 3 minutes of the angel being attached! It was bright, sunny, and windless.

So now Brigham City has it's own Angel Moroni!

July 4th 2011

July 4th was Brigham City's Fireworks Spectacular! This is by far my favorite event for the city each year. We arrived to the park around 8pm and had a couple of hours to kill. This is what I got when I asked for smiles.

We played UNO.

This is the looks I got when I beat them ALL!!

Once the local baseball game was done we moved over to a sweet spot by the fence. We then commenced to chill-axe. We had snacks and drinks and cool grass. Perfect!

More UNO was played as the sun set a little after 9:30.

The park was full and soon it was time to cozy up and prepare for the fireworks!
(This pic was taken right before they cut off the stadium lights.)

Ooohhh....

Aaahhhh....

It was a very fun family activity, one we look forward to all year.
Y'all should come and join us next time!
