The 4th of July

The 4th of July in this little Utah town is my favorite community tradition. People come from all over and sit in the grass under the star laden sky. We eat snacks and play games and visit. This year grandma and grandpa joined us! The fireworks got messed up and blew almost all at once so the evening was cut short but it was still a ton of fun.

Swimming Lessons 2013

Grey opted out of lessons this year but Erin and Lance went and enjoyed it.

They didn't progress to the next level (although they were close) so they weren't 

too happy but I'm still proud of them!

Lauren's New Baby...and my short lived career as a Birth Photographer

I have a new nephew! Welcome little Jeff! 

At the time I was exploring the idea of becoming a birth photographer. Lauren agreed to let me experiment on her. I got a few good pictures but I also got light headed. Giving birth yourself is a lot different than seeing someone else do it. The nurses mocked me. So...no birth photography for me!

In Which We Tour and Visit

In June, Chad and Grey participated in the Tour de Cure Diabetes ride that is held in Brigham each year. It's a fun annual beginning of summer event to attend as a family. 

We also had a visit from Chad's mom and dad! 

Pam, Brent and Lance went to follow the race route while Erin and I held our shady spot near the stream.

the Poppies!

I had a family hire me to take some photos and they insisted we go up to the poppy fields in Mantua. I'd never been but I'm glad they suggested it. It was BEAUTIFUL!! I ended up going back after the photo shoot with Chad and then later in the evening with mom.
